Don't forget the system specs. for running v6.0 are undemanding – see our April 2015 mailing Item 1. And our Installation Instructions are available here.
HTML export
Our top favourite is the ability to publish your maths/science papers directly to the web as an .xhtml document. That's why we documented it first in our December 2015 mailing Item 7 (but also see our February 2019 mailing Item 3). Why not go there now to see how, and click the link to see the result! Beautiful, or what?

Choose your own fonts
We also love the fact that you're no longer tied to Computer Modern. We mentioned this in our June 2016 mailing Item 4, and we recommend you go there next. Doesn't changefont4.pdf makes you smile?

Whatever symbols you want
Scientific Word/WorkPlace version 6.0 gives you a massive choice of symbols. And just in case we don't supply a symbol you want, here's how to use any LaTeX or Unicode characters.

Changing the page layout
It's easy in version 6.0 to change things like:
- Orientation:
- To change the whole document to landscape, click on Typeset – Document Format – General – Enable overriding the document style – Basic layout – Page Orientation – Landscape, before clicking on OK
- To switch to landscape part way through a document, insert an Encapsulated TeX field (Insert – Typeset Object – TeX field) saying \begin{landscape}, and in the "Requires Package" box enter lscape. Then at the place you want to revert to Portrait, insert an Encapsulated TeX field saying \end{landscape}. We've put a sample of this here: landscapesample.sci and landscapesample.pdf
- Margins: click on Typeset – Document Format – Page Layout – Enable overriding page layout, and then go down to the Body and Margins dialogs (at the bottom) to enter the numbers you want, before clicking on OK.
Actually, rather than entering numbers, it's easier to use the left and right arrows to adjust Body Width and Left Margin, and the up and down arrows to adjust Body Height and Top Margin.

Customizing the toolbars
This very welcome return of the ability to edit the Symbol Cache in earlier versions is covered in our June 2016 mailing Item 7. It's not something you'd probably find by yourself – we're sure it will be as useful now as it was in v4.1 and v5.0!
